Recommended Reading Order
Arknights has a massive number of stories, and new players might wonder "What order should I read them in?" Here's our recommended reading order.
Basic Approach: Read in Release Order
The most widely recommended approach among players is to read all stories — including Main Story and Side Stories — in release order. This way, you experience the narrative as the developers intended. Terra Log's home page lists stories in reverse release order (newest at top), so simply start from the bottom of the list and work your way up.
Don't Skip Side Stories
As you read in release order, Side Stories and Vignettes will appear between Main Story chapters. These often contain supplementary context or foreshadowing for the Main Story, so we recommend reading them in order rather than skipping ahead.
Recommended Approach for Beginners
1. Open Terra Log's home page and start reading from the bottom of the list (release order)
2. Follow the Main Story as your core thread, reading Side Stories and Vignettes in between as they appear in order
3. When you find a favorite operator, visit the Operator Records page to read their personal story
4. If you're interested in a specific theme or region, use the "Timeline" page to read stories by storyline
Using the Timeline Feature
Terra Log's "Timeline" page displays all stories by in-game chronology and storyline. Arknights organizes its stories into a "Score" system with 14 storylines (called Movements) covering different regions and themes. Use this feature when you want to deep-dive into stories about a specific nation or faction.
Tips for Reading
Arknights stories are incredibly voluminous, so trying to read everything at once can be overwhelming. We recommend recording your progress on Terra Log and reading at your own pace, little by little. As you check off stories and watch the progress bar fill up, you'll feel a sense of accomplishment that makes the reading experience even more enjoyable.
